High probability that software reset will help you! What does SW reset mean? It means how to put the mobile phone in a state to turn it off and then to turn it on normally with the help of external physical keys!
A soft reset will restart the device and will (usually) not erase any data.
Let's look at the most common examples:
SAMSUNG Galaxy:
press and hold the "Power"
from the menu choose Power off
wait few second
Press "Power"
or
Press and hold the “Power” and “Volume Down” buttons for about 10 seconds until the device powers off.
Press "Power" on again!
or
Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time:
Volume up + Home key + Power key
At menu you choose: restart
or
Press and hold the following three buttons at the same time:
Volume up + Volume down + Power key
At menu you choose: restart
iPhone:
Just press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons simultaneously for about 10-15 seconds, until you see the Apple logo. You can let go of both buttons after the Apple logo appears.
Your phone will go through the usual process of starting up.
SONY Xperia:
Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Up button at the same time
Xperia will vibrate 3 times, release the power and volume up button
Wait few seconds
Again press Power button
or
Press and hold the Power button at the same time for about 10s or until vibrating
Wait until device start-up
HUAWEI:
press and hold the Power button
from the menu choose Power off
wait few second

Why become mobile phone unresponsive?
After resetting to normal state check if you have possible system updates in waiting state?! If yes ... update system! And then only power off and then power on the mobile phone again! At 1st startup, you may wait few minutes to normally use mobile phones, because at the slower response!
